This is a great little umbrella. It fits neatly in my bag, and I use it for emergencies (it rains a lot here in San Francisco, so there are a lot of rain emergencies). Now, while it's small, and it works, there are comprises. It is not very sturdy; if there's a lot of wind, I suspect it will break easily. It's also provides a small amount of protection; the cloth area isn't as small as it can get, yet still be useful. So this should not be anyone's primary umbrella in a rainy area. However, if you want to keep an emergency umbrella with you so you don't get soaked when it rains unexpectedly, I think you'll be happy with this one.

I live in Seattle and don't have a car. I needed an umbrella that I could take with me everywhere just in case, but didn't want to carry it around in my hand (I'm a guy and don't carry a purse or bag). This thing is great, it fits in my jacket pocket, it's TINY. Other umbrellas this size feel flimsy or cheap, but this one's sturdy and easy to operate. Because of its size, its coverage diameter isn't huge, but it keeps me dry so I'm completely satisfied.

Size is great, but it is a little hard to open and close. Not good for young kids (12) as they can't open/close it. Have to be careful opening and clsoing because your fingers can get caught in the metal prongs causing injury. i only use it because it is small and light and just for emergencies. Not really usable as your main umbrella.

Bought this compact umbrella for my girlfriend for about $20 (figured I'd spend a decent amount for better quality) and it broke the first time she used it! Looks like I'll go back to the cheapo umbrellas from now on!

I purchased two of these umbrellas in the past. It is only six inches long and fits easily in my bag. It opens up, though, to cover a decent area. It's great to always have around to just in case of unexpected storms. It also looks nice. One improvement would probably be to add "anti-wind" openings; I think that my first one broke because of heavy wind.
