DO NOT BUY THIS UMBRELLA. It is a piece of junk. Whoever gave it 5 stars must work for the manufacturer. As other reviewers noted, mine also lost the little spokes after a couple of uses. I initially thought that was the cause of the stiffness I was noticing when I would try to open and close the umbrella, which is supposed to open with the press of a button. I used hairpins to replace the lost parts. That did not help. I even tried oiling the metal joints. That did not help. Opening and closing it is a real struggle. I do not think it is usable. If I am rushing in the rain to catch the bus, what will I do if the umbrella will not close as I try to enter the bus? What a disappointment and waste of money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS UMBRELLA!!!!

This is a very nice umbrella, and the ribs seem strong enough to withstand a high wind. BUT: the construction seems poor. The second time I used it, two of the ribs came out of the little sprockets (or whatever they re called), and I had to manually re-insert them. Same thing happened next time I used it. This is potentially hazardous to others in the street. Guess I could take it to a tailor and have them try to re-attach the ribs to the sprockets, but am not sure it's worth it...

I love this little wind proof umbrella. Its my own personal shade at my boys soccer games. It holds up great to our Texas winds.

But the umbrella itself is an American flag pattern - red, white, and blue, stars and stripes. The umbrella appears to be very sturdily constructed, especially for the price. My gift recipient thought it was cute, but if you want a actual Navy colored one...
