This umbrella seems to give UV protection except it lets through more heat than using a black umbrella. Also it is much heavier than the Totes Slender Brellas that don't have the Sunguard feature.

This umbrella opens to a very tiny size - it is not even close to full-sized when open. Much smaller than the usual compact umbrella.

BUT the real problem is that it doesn't click to stay open very well. The mechanism is plastic and just does not "snap" into place. What good is an umbrella that doesn't stay open ?

I returned it.

Living in Arizona I try to keep out of the sun. Great sun shade umbrella to keep in the car for long walks into the mall or work.
